4/30/2012 - 10 years ago today (4/30/2002), yes, 3650+ days ago, some of us yellow cats loved to pile on each other when we slept on the bean bag. In this picture, I was on the lower left, and Lung was sleeping on top of Bart. It was such a cozy scene.
3 years ago today (4/30/2009), all 5 of us at the time were sleeping on the sofa. As evident in the following picture, Bart's tumor was already bleeding while Lik probably felt hot. Though I was sleeping with MaGi and Mui.
2 years ago today (4/30/2010), I was happily eating treats with Mui and Lik. Nowadays, I am not even interested in eating treats because there's no other cats who would share thoughts with me after tasting new treats, so I just don't even bother eating treats.
A year ago today (4/30/2011), I was sunbathing with Mui at the study room window. At the time, I loved sleeping while I stood there as Mui would lay nearby me.

4/29/2012 - Today is Chung's and Gi's birthday. If they're still alive today, they would be 20 years old! Even though they are long gone (Chung passed away in 2004 and Gi passed away in 2006), but I still remember it was a happy day for them every year because they always got treats like shredded pork or crackers, which benefited us as well. Look how young they were when they were about one year old in 1993!
Gi:
7 years ago today (4/29/2005), I remember seeing Gi talking to Wormy's grave. Gi was probably telling Wormy a couple of things at the time - First, happy birthday to her brother. Second, it was difficult for her to manage us as she was the only cat left from her family (Wormy was her brother from the same litter as Robert and they came from the same mother in a different generation.)
4 years ago today (4/29/2008), all 6 of us at the time were eating in the kitchen together. Look how consistent we lined ourselves against each other (except Mui) in the kitchen when we were eating:
A year ago today (4/29/2011), Lik was still recovering from her surgery (look at her e-collar.) Though Mui and she were brave enough to "travel" on the deck outside.
Mui was such a chicken as she first went back inside the house as Lik was still checking out other things on the deck.
When Ball called on Lik, she immediately ran back into the house. Such a good girl.

4/28/2012 - 5 years ago today (4/28/2007), Lung was still in recovery mode (look at his right front leg's shaved hair), but he was already beating up other cats left and right, as evident in previous posts and in this picture with Bart:
Though whenever Ball and Fatty discovered his foul play, he would often escape from the scene or pretended nothing has happened. This time, he chose to escape from the scene.

4/27/2012 - A year ago today (4/27/2011), Mui and I laid comfortably on our sleeping bag in a cozy afternoon. I remember at the time, Mui would take care most of issues around the house like alerting Ball and Fatty about animal outside the house, or killing insects.
Today, I have to do all that by myself. I am officially 17 years old, or 85+ human years, and I still have to alert dummy Ball and Fatty when there are animals out there. Sometimes it's very frustrating as they seem not to care so much about predators outside the house. So I have to either scream at them:
Or pose like an alert canine officer to get their attention:

4/26/2012 - Today's post does not have anything to do with cats, but this object benefited us cats inside the house, as well as animals outside in the yard.
4 years ago today (4/26/2008), Ball and Fatty have set up a water fountain in the front yard. Whether it's for Feng Shui, aesthetic reason, or strictly for the birds to take a bath, all 7 of us cats loved it at the time because most of us loved watching birds.

The water fountain illuminated with water flowing sound at night too, quite beautiful.

4/25/2012 - 8 years ago today (4/25/2004), I did something other cats would not normally do - challenged Gi. After Chung passed away in 1/2004, Gi became our "manager" as she would handle both "external affairs" (like hissing at animals outside) and "internal affairs" (like telling us when to eat and sleep) in this house. For whatever reason, I was fed up with her management style that day, so I tried pushing back by threatening her. In the following photo, I was about to hit her,
but seconds later, she beated me up really bad. Robert was watching the whole situation from a distance while Lung just stood aside as Gi probably would have hit them both too.
3 years ago today (4/25/2009), Bart was probably in pain due to her fibrosarcoma. So she lay on the sofa with Lik to find some comfort.
2 years ago today (4/25/2010), I was playing with Mui and Lik as evident in the following photo. When I think of it now, the 3 of us had the best time together around those months because Mui just started having fluid for her renal issues, my hyperthyroidism was gone, and Lik was overall healthy.
Later that evening, Mui was having IV fluid injected into her body under the skin for her renal issues. I remember that she hated it, but she said it's worthwhile to extend her life that way, and Ball and Fatty have diligently done it for her everyday for 17+ months (2/2010 to 9/27/2011.)

4/24/2012 - Ball has to work late near her birthday every year, and this year is no exception. I remember whenever she worked late into the evening and Fatty is not home for whatever reason, we cats would go snacking, pooping or watch windows together in the past. I did the same thing today alone. I meowed and ran around the house, but it was dead quiet.
As recent as a year ago today (4/24/2011), Mui, Lik, and I were sleeping with Ball that night, as Lik was still in recovery mode from her surgery.
Then we watched birds through the window together the next morning.
Once again, I took them for granted in the past, and now I regret doing it.

4/23/2012 - Today is my 17th birthday!!! According to some non-scientific calculations, 17 cat years is about 84 to 87 human years. I have outlived BB, Chung, Robert, Gi, Hart, Lung, MaGi, Bart, Mui, and Lik, but I sometimes feel lonely at home. Like this afternoon, I was awake, and wanted to play, but both Ball and Fatty were heading out for dinner, so I was all by myself at home.
It was a rainy and boring afternoon, plus it's my birthday, so scenes with other cats from the past started floating in my head again...
14 years ago today (4/23/1998), all of us had a fun evening playing with Ball. I remember Mui became so excited and jumped several feet high from the floor.
7 years ago today (4/23/2005), all 8 of us, Gi, Hart, Lung, MaGi, Bart, Mui, Lik, and I were having birthday treats together. Even though it was not Gi's birthday (her birthday was on 4/29), but she joined us anyway.
6 years ago today (4/23/2006), Ball and Fatty bought us a cat toy from Ikea. All 8 of us took turns to sniff and explore this toy. We had this toy for years and it was a nice gift.
5 years ago today (4/23/2007), Lung was still in recovery mode, but he joined us sleeping on the sofa.
Look how young I looked 5 years ago (I turned 12 years old on that day).
4 years ago today (4/23/2008), Lung's condition started deteriorating, but he would still join us for breakfast.
3 years ago today (4/23/2009), MaGi had a technical appointment, so despite it was Ball's birthday, she brought MaGi for the appointment anyway.
Mui, Bart, and I were watching her leaving to the appointment that day.
After MaGi came back from the appointment, all 5 of us had our birthday dinner together. Each of us had a our favorite food too!
2 years ago today (4/23/2010), Mui, Lik, and I were sleeping but Fatty woke up all of us to take a birthday picture. So all 3 of us looked half-awake.
A year ago today (4/23/2011), Lik was in recovery mode from her cyst-removing surgery. Despite that, she join Mui and I to have our 16th birthday breakfast.
Today, I am all by myself. Though I am glad Ball and Fatty have spent a lot of time with me today. They even put some decorations on my head to make me look cuter, though I hated it, so I gave them a dirty look.

4/22/2012 - 5 years ago today (4/22/2007), Lung was still in recovery mode from his 1st emergency room visit as stated in 3/31/2012's post, but Ball and Fatty have already indulged him by letting him out to the yard.
Today is a rainy day and tomorrow will be a downpour day, so Fatty planned to "do something" in the attic so the rain does not leak into the bedroom ceiling again. He carved out some cardboards into a strip,
and was planning to insert it in the attic so it would catch the rain that leaks from the roof.
When he was moving the cardboards up to the attic, it was so loud that he actually woke me up. So I went into the study room and investigated the process. It seems like he is actually doing something up there.
Later in the evening, Fatty told me that the mission is a failure because the roof rafters are not steep enough as they touch the ceiling joists at a much narrower angle.
What a waste of time and the rain once again is puddling on the roof.
